The Best Wedding Venues in the Capital District

Here at Media Hammock, we thought it might be helpful to list some of the best wedding venues that we had the privilege of shooting videos for in the Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga Springs, Catskills and Adirondack areas of NY. Of course this is from the perspective of a wedding videographer, so the venues that have made this list are here because of their staff, ease of access, convenience, amenities, and of course good looks. I will share some images taken from the videos and provide links to the videos that were created at these lovely establishments.  Let’s get started.

1) The Mohawk River Country Club and Chateau

The Mohawk River Country Club and Chateau is located in Rexford, NY. That is right next door to Schenectady and Clifton Park, NY and approximately 25 minutes away from the Albany area. I think these beautiful images really speak for themselves.

Take pictures on the beautiful golf course or any of the other manicured lawns. Perhaps you would like to have a First Look out by the beautiful pond in the front of the venue. This is an absolutely gorgeous venue with plenty of space for your guests to unwind, let loose and have a great time. Stephanie & Tom went with the Extended Highlight option. Give it a watch:

2) Saratoga National Golf Course

Located in Saratoga Springs, NY – the home of the Saratoga Race Way and the Saratoga Casino is Saratoga National Golf Course. If you have guests coming from out of town, these two attractions are close by to enjoy, and of course if you are a golfer maybe you can take in a game.

For weddings this is an amazing venue, the beautifully manicured grass, the ponds, the beautiful wooden bridge, and the elegant club house that looks like something out of a fairy-tale. There is no shortage of pretty locations to take pictures and capture stunning wedding video.

Even the cocktail hour was amazing at this one. Guests had fun taking their own Polaroid pictures as they sat on the terrace and watched the water flow beyond the beautiful infinity pool. I really love the dance floor, so much space, you could even fit a full band in there.

3) Hiland Park Country Club

Located in Queensbury, NY – If you are looking for elegance and beautiful mountain views this is definitely the venue for you. Enjoy your ceremony on a picturesque lawn, and your reception in the grand ballroom. It is amazing with 20-foot-high ceilings that allow you and your guests to see all scenic views and watch the gorgeous sunset.

It is a great all-around venue, so much space, and so much beauty. Check out one of my videos from Hiland Park Country Club:

4) Seven Ponds Farm

Located in Summit, NY – I was personally amazed at all of the beautiful sights at Seven Ponds Farm. You have a fantastic view of the mountains all around you and as the name implies numerous ponds nestled in between beautiful vegetation as far as the eye can see. It’s a farm, so there are also farm animals and all the natural sights that go along with a farm in the Catskills. Can you imagine having your wedding ceremony outside with the mountains behind you? The staff was great to work with and it was truly a pleasure shooting in such a marvelous place. You have to check out Carla & Connor’s wedding video to see some of the beauty from the air and from the ground.  You be the judge, but I am most certain that this wedding venue will not disappoint you:

5) Jimbo’s at the Point

Located in Brant Lake, NY – What if I told you you could have your wedding Ceremony on a beach front overlooking a lake with the Adirondack Mountains as your back drop? How about under beautiful towering pine trees with the lake and mountains behind you? How about exchanging your vows in a gorgeous boathouse? Does the sound extraordinarily beautiful? Well believe me it doesn’t matter which option you choose, it is all absolutely stunning. The grounds at Jimbo’s Club at the Point are amazing. And not only that, but at the last wedding I filmed, the guests stayed on the premises in their own cabins. How cool is that? You have to take a look at Hannah & Samuel’s wedding trailer and Will and Michelle’s Wedding Highlight to see what I am talking about:

6) Glen Sanders Mansion

The Glen Sanders Mansion is located in Scotia, NY approximately 25 minutes away from the Albany area and only minutes away from Schenectady, NY.  The staircase that goes up to the bridal suite was recently renovated and really sets off the elegance of this venue when you first step into the front doors. Wedding ceremonies are held either indoors or outdoors depending on the season and both locations are equally beautiful. There’s plenty of room for guests to spread out in separate rooms for cocktail hour and for your reception. There’s no limit to the beautiful locations inside and out for photo and video opportunities. Plus the food is absolutely delicious thanks to catering provided by Mazzone Hospitality.
